Shoreline in winter
Eurohostel is next to the Katajanokka Sea Terminal area – just a short walk from the sights, shops and restaurants of central Helsinki. Guests at Eurohostel find everything close at hand. Even the ferry boat ride to Helsinki Zoo is only 300 metres away!
Trams number 4 and 5 take you easiest to the city centre and back to the hostel. Single tickets to Helsinki public transportation cost 3,20 €, but you may also purchase a cheaper ticket from ticket machines or you can buy a mobile ticket or SMS ticket with your mobile phone.
Here below are the instructions how to come to Eurohostel from different directions.
...from the city center?
If you don´t want to walk (only 15-20 minutes), just take the tram 4 or 5. These trams run along streets Mannerheimintie and Aleksanterinkatu in the centre. Trams run approximately every 5 to 15 minutes depending on weekday and time of the day.
The nearest stop to Eurohostel for tram 4 is Vyökatu. Hostel is located on your left side, behind a small park, when you step out the tram. If you arrive by tram 5, the nearest stop is Mastokatu and our hostel is located behind you on your left side when you step out the tram.
...from the ferry terminals?
Eurohostel is located about 300 meters from Katajanokan terminaali - Katajanokka Terminal (Viking Line -terminal).
In front of the Olympiaterminaali - Olympia Terminal (Silja Line) take tram 3 to the centre. Get out at the 3rd stop on "Aleksanterinkatu" street and go to the other side of the street. Take tram 4 or 5 to Eurohostel. The 4th stop (Vyökatu) is the nearest to Eurohostel.
From the Länsiterminaali - West Terminal (Tallink, Eckerö Line) it is best to take tram 9 to the Railway Station. Walk up 200 meters west to "Mannerheimintie" street and take tram 4 or 5 eastbound to Eurohostel.
...from the Helsinki International Airport?
The airport is located in Vantaa - neighboring city north of Helsinki - 20 kilometers from Helsinki city centre and Eurohostel.
The easiest way to come from the airport to Eurohostel is taking a P-train (on Ring Rail Line) from the Airport railway station to Helsinki station. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes. The price for a single ticket to regional transport is 5,50 €, it´s valid 80 minutes and you may use it also in trams from the city centre to Eurohostel
Normal taxi from the airport to Eurohostel costs about 35-45 euros, but you may use also a airport taxi called Yellow Line which shuttle buses run between the city centre and airport - check the rates at their website.
...from the Central Railway Station or Kamppi Bus Terminal?
Walk up to Lasipalatsi tram stop at Mannerheimintie street, it´s located 200 meters west from Central Railway Station and 200 meters east from Kamppi Bus Terminal. Take tram 4 to Katajanokka direction (eastbound) and the 7th stop (Vyökatu) is the nearest to Eurohostel. Eurohostel is in front of you, bit on the right side.
At Lasipalatsi tram stop you may also take tram 5 to Eurohostel, that case the nearest stop is Mastokatu. You may find our hostel behind the parking area on a left hand side (50 metres). Ask the tram driver if you are not sure.
...by your own car?
From the city centre follow the roadsigns to Katajanokka (the part of the city where hostel is located) or to the Katajanokan terminaali (ferry terminal near our hostel). After you have crossed the bridge to Katajanokka follow the tramline about 400 meters to Kruunuvuorenkatu until tramline divides, then choose the tramline to the left (to Linnankatu) and after 100 meters turn right (before a small park). Eurohostel is a high grey building made of bricks on your left side.
