EUROHOSTEL BOOKING AND ACCOMMODATION TERMS
These terms apply to accommodation reservations, services and purchases made directly with Eurohostel. This includes reservations made through our website, by email, by phone or at the reception.
If a reservation has been made through a third party, such as a travel agency, group organiser or another booking channel, the terms and conditions of that third party may apply. In such cases, changes and cancellations must generally be made through the same booking channel.

By making a reservation, confirming a booking, checking in or using Eurohostel’s services, you accept these booking terms and conditions and the reservation-specific terms.
1. Reservations and confirmation
Reservations are subject to availability, and a reservation is confirmed only once Eurohostel has issued a booking confirmation.
The person making the reservation is responsible for ensuring that all booking details are correct. These details include, among others, the guest’s name, arrival and departure dates, room type, number of guests, price, payment method and any special requests.
Special requests, such as early check-in, late check-out, room location or beds in the same room, are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed unless Eurohostel has confirmed them separately.
Eurohostel reserves the right to correct obvious errors in prices, availability or booking details.
2. Rates and payment
Eurohostel offers different accommodation products and rate types. The price, payment terms and cancellation terms are determined by the rate selected at the time of booking.
Flexible rate reservations
Flexible rate reservations offer more flexible change and cancellation terms than non-refundable reservations.
A flexible rate reservation is paid at the time of booking, upon arrival or at another time stated in the booking confirmation. The exact payment method and payment time are determined by the booking channel and the terms stated in the booking confirmation.
A flexible rate reservation can usually be changed or cancelled free of charge until the deadline stated in the booking confirmation. If the reservation is cancelled after the deadline or the guest does not arrive, Eurohostel may charge the cancellation fee stated in the booking confirmation or charge the reservation price partly or in full.
Non-refundable reservations
Non-refundable reservations are usually less expensive than flexible rate reservations, but their terms are stricter.
A non-refundable reservation is paid at the time of booking or at another time stated in the booking confirmation. A non-refundable reservation cannot be cancelled, changed or refunded unless otherwise required by mandatory legislation.
If the guest cancels a non-refundable reservation, changes the reservation, does not arrive or uses the reservation only partly, Eurohostel has the right to charge the full value of the reservation.
Other rates and offers
Campaigns, packages, special offers, long-stay rates and group rates may have their own payment, cancellation and change terms. These terms are shown during the booking process or stated in the booking confirmation.
Prices include VAT unless otherwise stated. Eurohostel may change prices at any time, but confirmed reservations are always subject to the price and terms confirmed at the time of booking.
3. Cancellations and changes
Cancellation and change terms are determined by the selected rate type, booking channel and the terms stated in the booking confirmation.
Reservations made directly through Eurohostel’s own website, by email, by phone or at the reception are subject to the terms stated in the booking confirmation.
Flexible rate reservations can usually be cancelled or changed free of charge until the deadline stated in the booking confirmation. After this deadline, changes or cancellations may be subject to the fee stated in the booking confirmation, or the reservation price may be charged partly or in full.
Non-refundable reservations cannot be cancelled, changed or refunded. Eurohostel has the right to charge the full value of a non-refundable reservation also if the guest does not arrive or uses the reservation only partly.
Only cancellations and changes confirmed by Eurohostel are valid.
If the reservation has been made through a third party, please contact the same booking channel for cancellations and changes. Eurohostel cannot guarantee that a reservation made through a third party can be changed or cancelled directly through Eurohostel.
4. Late arrival and no-show
If you expect to arrive after 18:00 on the day of arrival, please inform Eurohostel of your estimated arrival time in advance.
If you inform Eurohostel of a late arrival after 12:00 noon on the day of arrival, the notification must be made by phone at +358 9 622 0470.
If the guest does not arrive and has not cancelled the reservation according to the applicable cancellation terms, the reservation may be treated as a no-show. In such a case, Eurohostel may cancel the reservation or charge the reservation price partly or in full.
For non-refundable reservations, the full value of the reservation may be charged.
5. Group reservations
A group reservation means a reservation for 10 or more persons.
Group reservations have reservation-specific payment, cancellation and change terms. These terms are agreed separately and stated in the group reservation offer or confirmation.
The group organiser is responsible for providing correct guest information, arrival information and payment information, and for ensuring that all members of the group follow Eurohostel’s booking terms, terms of use and house rules.
6. Check-in and check-out
Check-in begins at 14:00 on the day of arrival.
Early check-in may be possible subject to availability, but it cannot be guaranteed in advance. If you arrive before your room is ready, you may leave your luggage in Eurohostel’s luggage room free of charge.
Check-out is by 12:00 noon on the day of departure.
Late check-out until 17:00 may be available for an additional fee or as a direct booking benefit, depending on the reservation type and availability. Late check-out must always be confirmed by the reception.
If the room is not vacated by the agreed check-out time, Eurohostel may charge an additional fee.
7. Guest information and identity verification
All guests must provide the traveller information required for the statutory traveller notification under Finnish law.
The guest must, when necessary, present a valid passport, identity card or other reliable proof of identity accepted by Eurohostel. The identity of foreign travellers is verified at check-in from a travel document or by another reliable method as required by law.
Eurohostel may refuse accommodation if the guest does not provide the required traveller information or if the guest’s identity cannot be verified as required by law or by Eurohostel’s justified safety and customer management practices.
The person making the reservation is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.
8. Age limits and minors
Guests under the age of 18 may stay at Eurohostel only with the consent of a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
Eurohostel may require written permission from a parent or guardian if a guest under the age of 18 is travelling without an adult. Eurohostel reserves the right to refuse accommodation if the necessary consent or information is not provided.
9. Rooms, beds and shared facilities
Eurohostel offers private rooms and beds subject to availability.
A bed is reserved personally for one guest. Unless otherwise stated, a bed reservation does not entitle the guest to exclusive use of the entire room.
Guests using shared rooms, showers, toilets, kitchens, lounges, saunas and other shared facilities must respect other guests and keep the facilities clean and safe.
Eurohostel may, when necessary for operational reasons, move a guest to another room or bed of the same or higher category.
10. Direct booking benefits
Some benefits are available only for reservations made through Eurohostel’s own booking channels.
Depending on the reservation type and availability, these benefits may include free evening sauna, late check-out and all room types being bookable.
Benefits are subject to availability and may change from time to time. They cannot be exchanged for money or other compensation.
11. Services
The use of the sauna, laundry services, breakfast and other additional services may be subject to availability, opening hours, separate charges or specific instructions.
Guests must follow all safety instructions and staff instructions when using Eurohostel’s facilities and services.
Eurohostel may temporarily close or restrict the use of facilities for maintenance, safety, operational reasons or other justified reasons.
12. House rules
Eurohostel is a safe, equal and non-discriminatory environment. All guests are expected to behave respectfully towards other guests, staff and neighbours.
Guests must not disturb others, damage property, smoke in non-smoking areas, use illegal substances, bring unauthorised visitors to accommodation areas or behave in a threatening, discriminatory or unsafe manner.
Quiet hours and other house rules must be followed.
Eurohostel reserves the right to remove a guest from the premises without refund if the guest seriously violates these booking terms and conditions, the house rules, safety instructions or Finnish law.
13. Smoking
Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside Eurohostel.
If smoking causes cleaning costs, damage, odour removal costs, fire alarm costs or loss of room availability, Eurohostel may charge the guest for the costs incurred.
14. Damage and responsibility for property
The guest is responsible for any damage, loss, additional cleaning or disturbance caused by the guest, the guest’s visitors or members of the guest’s group.
Eurohostel may charge the guest or the person responsible for the reservation for costs caused by misuse, negligence or intentional damage.
Guests are responsible for their own belongings. Eurohostel is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property unless the damage has been caused by Eurohostel’s negligence under applicable law.
15. Personal belongings and luggage
Guests staying at Eurohostel may store luggage in the luggage room subject to availability. Luggage storage is at the guest’s own risk.
Guests should not leave their belongings unattended in shared facilities.
Lost property may be stored for a limited time. Perishable or dangerous items may be disposed of immediately. Returning lost property is subject to postage and handling costs.
16. Accessibility and special needs
Eurohostel aims to assist guests with special needs whenever possible.
Guests are requested to inform Eurohostel in advance of any accessibility needs, health-related matters or other needs that may affect the stay. Eurohostel will do its best to assist, but all requests cannot be guaranteed.
17. Pets
Pets are allowed only in separately marked pet rooms or in rooms confirmed by Eurohostel as suitable for pets. Guests must inform Eurohostel of pets in advance, and the pet’s stay requires confirmation from Eurohostel.
A separate pet fee is charged for pets. The amount of the fee is stated at the time of booking, in the booking confirmation or at the reception.
A guest travelling with a pet is responsible for any damage, additional cleaning or disturbance caused by the pet. The pet must not disturb other guests or staff, and it must not be left alone in the room without Eurohostel’s permission.
Assistance dogs are welcome in accordance with applicable law without a pet fee.
18. Force majeure
Eurohostel is not responsible for failure to fulfil its obligations if this is caused by circumstances beyond Eurohostel’s reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include, for example, fire, flood, exceptional weather, strike, labour dispute, war, terrorism, epidemic, government restriction, interruption of electricity, water or other services, transport disruption, technical failure or another comparable event.
In such situations, Eurohostel may cancel, change or postpone services without liability for indirect damage or additional costs.
19. Data protection
Eurohostel processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
Personal data is used, for example, for handling reservations, providing accommodation services, fulfilling legal obligations, customer communication, payment processing, safety and service development.
More information is available in Eurohostel’s Privacy Policy.
20. Complaints and feedback
If something does not meet your expectations during your stay, please contact the reception as soon as possible. This gives Eurohostel the opportunity to correct the situation already during your stay.
Complaints made after departure should be submitted in writing within a reasonable time.
Eurohostel aims to handle all feedback fairly and without undue delay.
21. Applicable law and dispute resolution
These booking terms and conditions are governed by Finnish law.
Any disputes shall primarily be resolved through negotiation between the guest and Eurohostel.
If the dispute cannot be resolved by negotiation, the guest may contact the Finnish Consumer Advisory Services or another competent consumer dispute body. Disputes may also be handled by a competent Finnish court.
22. Changes to these terms
Eurohostel reserves the right to change these terms and conditions from time to time.
Confirmed reservations are subject to the terms valid at the time of booking, unless otherwise required by law or separately agreed.
